Redskins QB Donovan McNabb returned to practice on Monday and showed "no obvious signs that his ankle is still bothering him," according to beat writer Jason Reid. McNabb will start against the Cowboys on Sunday night. Draft Sharks members will be able to see how we project him to fare when we post our Week 1 Rankings tomorrow afternoon! |

Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew practiced on Monday. That bum knee he's dealing with is definitely something worth keeping an eye on, but he's ready for the team's season opener against the Broncos this Sunday. Get him in your starting lineup. |

Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt says RB Beanie Wells " is not 100%" after suffering a knee injury in last week's preseason finale. "We'll see how he progresses during the week," Whiz said. We'd be shocked if Wells sat out the season opener, but we'll continue to update his status. He'll be a bit of a risky play, but it'd be tough to bench Beanie this week against the Rams. |

While Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt says WR Larry Fitzgerald (knee) is on track to start Week 1, he also mentioned that Fitz is still working on his conditioning after missing so much time. Not what you want to hear about your #1 receiver. It'd be impossible to bench Fitz -- especially with a tasty matchup against the Rams -- but don't be surprised if he gets off to a slow start. |

Here's a suprise: Raiders RB Michael Bush (thumb) was on the practice field today in pads, participating in most of the team's drills. A recent report had Bush out 4-6 weeks, but that doesn't seem to be the case. He's still iffy for Sunday's season opener -- and if he does play, he'll be limited -- but this is good news for his long-term stock. It also makes RB Darren McFadden a riskier Week 1 start. We'll continue to update Bush's status leading right up to Sunday morning. |

Steelers QB Dennis Dixon will start Week 1 against the Falcons. HC Mike Tomlin made an official announcement today, amidst rumblings that Charlie Batch might get the first crack at the starting job. Dixon performed well in limited action last season, but his inexperience leaves him as a poor fantasy option. |

The Rams have acquired WR Mark Clayton from Baltimore in exchange for a late-round pick. Clayton became expendable when the Ravens signed WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh earlier this morning. In St. Louis, Clayton could have some fantasy impact. He had a good camp with Baltimore and immediately becomes one of the most talented WR on St. Louis' roster. Laurent Robinson is pretty much locked into the #1 WR role, but there's no reason Clayton can't emerge as the #2 and send Danny Amendola back to the slot. Keep an eye on him these first few weeks. |

It turns out the Seahawks have not released RB Julius Jones. That was the plan, but Jones unexpectedly agreed to take a paycut to stay in Seattle. We just added him back to our RB rankings, but this doesn't change Justin Forsett or Leon Washington's standing. Jones will be a 3rd-stringer and probably won't see more than a handful of snaps per game. |

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Ravens have signed WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh to a one-year, $855,000 deal. We're nudging up QB Joe Flacco's numbers, as it never hurts to have too many possession receivers. But we're also trimming WR Derek Mason's -- who looks to be the most affected casualty of the signing. Getting a proven pass catcher at that price is a steal for the Ravens, but it also hints that very little is expected from Housh. |

Saints LB Jonathan Vilma (groin) practiced on Sunday. He’ll play in Thursday night’s season opener and should be busy against Vikings RB Adrian Peterson. |

With WR Vincent Jackson failing to agree to a deal this weekend, he’s now been placed on the roster exempt list. It’s essentially another 3-game suspension, and it gets tacked on to his preexisting 3-game ban. It means V-Jax won’t play until Week 7 at the earliest. If you’re still drafting this week, Jackson is only worth a late-round flier. |

According to the Washington Post, Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth is unlikely to start in the team’s Week 1 game against the Cowboys. Although Haynesworth has been a big-time disappointment this offseason, he’s still a force in the middle of the field. His absence from the starting lineup would be good news for Cowboys RBs Felix Jones and Marion Barber. |

CB Darrelle Revis’ new deal with the Jets is worth $46 million over 4 years with $32 million guaranteed. Both sides have to be happy here. The Jets will pay Revis a “manageable” $11.5 million per year – less than CB Nnamdi Asomugha is making in Oakland. Meanwhile, Revis gets a nice chunk of change, and will still be able to get one more big deal 4 years down the road. Revis will practice with the team today and will start against the Ravens Monday night. WR Anquan Boldin isn’t happy this morning. |

WR Joey Galloway is expected to start opposite Santana Moss in the team’s season opener this Sunday night. WR Devin Thomas was on a lot of peoples’ sleeper lists this offseason, but he’s been a colossal bust. It’s safe to day that Moss is the only ‘Skins WR worth starting in fantasy leagues. |

QB Matt Leinart has signed a 1-year deal with the Texans. Looks like he faced the fact that he wasn't going to land a starting job this season. Houston was looking for an upgrade over Dan Orlovsky as QB Matt Schaub’s backup, and they got it in Leianrt. He may have failed as a starter, but Leinart makes a high-quality insurance policy. The signing is good news for Andre Johnson and the rest of the Texans pass-catchers. |

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, CB Darrelle Revis and the Jets have reached an agreement in principle that will make Revis the highest paid player in the team's history. Revis is scheduled to be at the Jets training facility tomorrow night to sign the deal and is expected to be on the field next Monday for the home opener against the Ravens. This is a landmark addition to the Jets defensive unit and a bit of a blow to the aerial attacks of the AFC East. |

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Packers WR Jordy Nelson is expected to handle kick return duties this season. Nelson wins the job almost by default after last year’s return man – Will Blackmon – was released. While this doesn’t mean much for those outside of return yardage leagues, it’s a reminder that Nelson lost out to James Jones for the 3rd WR role. Jones makes for a high upside late round flier. |

The Seahawks have released RB Julius Jones. The team dumped the 29-year old due in part to a poor training camp, but also because they didn't want to pay $2.45 million to a 3rd-stringer. The move is a good sign for RB Leon Washington. He's 100% recovered from last season's broken leg, and the team is confident in him as its #2 RB. Washington makes a nice RB4. But the big winner here is Forsett, who should see about 15 touches per game. We've been moving him down our rankings over the past couple weeks, but this bumps him right back up into low-end RB2 territory. |

Redskins HC Mike Shanahan spoke optimistically about QB Donovan McNabb’s chances of being ready for Week 1. "Yeah, I feel very good about him being ready to go," Shanahan said. "In fact, I think he'll be able to practice in the next couple of days. And I feel very good about the direction he's headed." While he might be a full go for the Sunday night matchup, we wouldn’t recommend him as a fantasy play. McNabb will have a tough time against the Cowboys' stingy front 7. |

Chiefs WR Jerheme Urban has been placed on IR, ending his 2010 season. Urban was never on the fantasy radar, but it's a significant development because it locks rookie Dexter McCluster into the #3 WR role. An ultra-explosive player, he's an intriguing late-round flier. |
